Here we are again with another Christmas and what a year it has been, full of incredible indie games, new homebrews, and lots of retro specials that have amazed even our own writers! From C64 games such as Aviator Arcade II, Portal, L’Abbaye des Morts 64, Caren Thank You Edition 2018, Organism, Limbo, Sizzler, and even Rocky Memphis The Legend Of Atlantis. To Amiga games such as Tiger Claw, GOLDEN WING, The Kiwi’s Tale, Rygar AGA and even Barbarian Plus, each one brilliant in their own way.
But let’s not forget the Amstrad either, as 2018 for this system has been incredible. We were blown away with the CPCRetroDev competition playing games like Operation Alexandra, Jarlac, Legend of Steel, The Adventures of Timothy Gunn and even Galactic Tomb. Which really showed us just how incredible the Amstrad is especially when games are developed for the system to their full potential! – No ZX Spectrum ports here 🙂
On the topic of the ZX Spectrum, the community was certainly no slouch for this system either. In actual fact the ZX Spectrum saw many incredible games announced through 2018, especially with games like The Beast Of Torrack Moor, Power Blade, Foggy’s Quest 2 The Lost Treasure of OMK, Rogue, Old Tower, Popeye Arcade 2018 and of course my personal favourite Gandalf Deluxe.
And now putting the core retro games aside including the ROMS we’ve been shouting about every month, but we also have to give thanks to the indie game community. Sometimes it isn’t all about loading up an emulator, but we like to load up Steam or other such gaming library and have a quick blast on the PC that doesn’t have anything to do with the tediousness of Battlefield V. Games such as From Beyond – Prologue, Battle Princess Madelyn, Aeon, Project Warlock, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom and even Unavowed to name but some of the ones we’ve enjoyed in 2018!
If you love what we do and want to help us continue on through the years to come, please support the site below and more so towards the server costs. – Any donators will be thanked via our Facebook page, and if you don’t get my message, know that I am extremely grateful. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU AWESOME PEOPLE! 🙂
